I just got into Ohio Wesleyan University. I am really interested in the school due to its strong East Asian Studies program. Has anyone visited the school? If so, could you post your campus visit impressions?

My husband and D. visited the school two years ago when D. was applying. She ended up going ED elsewhere, but both were very impressed with OWU. They felt that the campus was one where diversity was appreciated. They thought that each student was valued and that the professors were dedicated to teaching and reaching everyone. It is a very special community.

I appreciate your comments very much! The campus looks real nice in the pictures. What was your general sense about how happy the students there were with the education that they were getting? I know OWU's graduate school placements are really good from a survey that someone else posted on here previously.

The reason that we became interested in the school was the chapter about it in Loren Pope's book, Colleges That Change Lives. I remember that one of the strong points about the school was how many students go on for postgraduate studies. The students seem to have a lot of loyalty to the school and seem to even be involved very much in the admissions process by making calls and signing cards. Its my impression that the students are at least as happy at OWU as students anywhere else...
