Thanks so much for asking @buuzn03, it has been a challenge to get up-to-date information as the fire around Carpinteria & Cate School changes constantly. So far, the campus has been unharmed. Ben Williams has been sending photos of the fire crews stationed at Cate: the trucks, bulldozers and other heavy equipment, and a great shot of Raymond Dining Commons filled with firefighters enjoying a ti-tip dinner. There are over a dozen engines & crews stationed on the mesa, which is reassuring, and the school sends daily (if not more) updates. The fire is moving westward towards Montecito and the air quality has been a huge concern. If you’re interested, KEYT News Channel 3 has been broadcasting continuously and you can watch the live feed on their website.
Just read the most recent updates…continuing to pray as the winds seem to be spreading the flames further and faster. If anyone in that area needs an escape for the holidays, we will welcome them in Texas. Our house isn’t big, it’s modest, but comfortable and smoke-free. Hugs to all affected.
