I'm aiming for an EE degree at MIT, Stanford or Berkeley. My grades aren't that great, I have some As, some Bs, and one or two Ds and one E :O. I'm a US citizen but I'll be applying as an international student. For my SAT I'm getting 2200+.

My high school grades aren't good because I haven't really adjusted to the system outside the US.

However, what I was wondering is if my ECs will make up

I've won (1st Place) 3 programming/engineering competitions, one at city level, one national and one international (SAARC if you know what that is). If your wondering which comp. they were PROCOM, GIKI Science Fair and SOFTEC (in that order).

My projects weren't lightweight either - one was an internet controlled interface for industrial applications and the other was a human machine interfacer for deaf people (don't want to bore you with detail :))

I'm on my school's debating team and we compete on a national level.

My second EC area is that I'm the founder and CEO of a non-profit organization - The Entrepreneurs (The Entrepreneurs a non-profit organization the site needs a makeover :)). And I'm cofounding another medical connect and outreach program.

If you guys could give me any idea of what I can expect and where I should apply please let me know.

Thank You.

P.S. I hope I didn't sound show offy :) I just need some real help on whether I have a chance or not. Thanks!

If you're a US citizen, don't apply international. It only hurts your chances. I don't really like you're chances for though, you're EC's are very good, but not outstanding. I think maybe you could get into Berkeley, but not MIT or Stanford.

Your ECs are good, but they won't be enough to make up for your low GPA. Sorry, your grades are just too low for you to have a chance at most of the top colleges.

Your EC's are incredible (!) but if there's one thing I'm absolutely certain of in college admissions is that the transcript is the most important part. And a couple D's really isn't going to cut it, sorry :(
