OK Here's Another...But It's My 1st Post!!! =)

WOK Here's Anotherhat do you think about my 1st semester (freshman) schedule? I want to be a social worker so right now I'm thinking I will double major in Social Welfare (pre-masters in social work concentration) and Psychology. I will have a total of 16 credits.

*History 2--TuTh 8:00AM-9:15AM
*Intro to Social Welfare--TuTh 9:30AM-10:50AM
*English 1--TuTh 11:00AM-12:30PM
*Astronomy--MWF 12:00PM-12:50PM
*Spanish--MTuWF 2:00PM-2:50PM

If I accept the work-study, I will have 2 jobs and I won't be living on campus.

These classes (with the exception of Intro to SW) are basically the gen.ed requirements, and are transferable because I'm not sure if I want to stay here.

Perhaps I'm new with this, but do you want an opinion on your classes or your schedule as a whole?

If you're looking for the former, then I'm no help (business major here), but as for the latter I'd say it's not too bad, given that you're done by 3 at the latest. That said, I would consider cutting back on your jobs and only taking the work-study if possible. As a first semester freshman, and a potential transfer candidate, concentrate on achieving as good of grades as possible - not trying to kill yourself with two jobs.

However, if there is one blemish, a class at 2:50 on Friday is rouuuughhh. I've been there before, but that doesn't mean I'd do it again.

history, social welfare, english, and spanish all in the same semester? You trying to suicide brah?

If you enjoy your major, then it should be pretty interesting and enjoy! If you're like me, an engineer, then that's a different story.

lulzpwned..

If your thinking about transferring, take all of your gen ed classes and do very well in them (B >). Transferring to good colleges is becoming increasingly difficult.

I was being sarcastic. That semester's a joke.

The schedule isn't bad. His major is not engineering, he's going to majoring in social work. I think the worst part of that schedule is the time.. although the classes aren't exactly my cup of tea (besides spanish)

i know a lot of people who would much rather take orgo or linear algebra than history..

I thought that too. Until I started taking some social science and humanities courses and realizing that they are actually pretty interesting and easy as hell. Orgo is a pain in the ass. Linear algebra is fun, though.

Yeah, really. Having to take all those liberal arts classes would be unbearable for me :P

Thanks to the people who responded with helpful opinions

I'm not a guy

I asked what do you think of my SCHEDULE, not the classes - meaning the times/days

My 1st semester is not a joke. Everyone doesn't want to study math & science 24/7. I love studying history, social sciences, English, and foreign languages.

you+me sorry, figured you were a guy... remember most of the people on here are high schoolers and probably know less than you.

Yes it is a joke. Joke means easy, btw. Just so that you don't take it the wrong way.
