OK, heres my final list, what are my chances?!

GPA: 3.59 UW
School Dosen't Rank
SAT: 1950

In 9th grade I was in all regular classes except for math, and I was in integrated science and my GPA sucked. I worked the summers of my Freshman and Sophomore years to catch up and now I'm full IB after a lot of hard work and sweet talking my consuelor. So, I went from regular cclasses with a low GPA to full IB with a high GPA, but my overall is still somewhat low. I also moved from living with a bi-polar guardian who wasn't on their medication and I moved out of state after I was abonded. Will these things make me stick out in my essays and such? Should I mention them?

EC's:
At my old school
BPA: President
Key Club
Multi-Cultural Club

At my new school:
NHS
SNHS
Young Republicans
Young Democrats (Yes, I'm in both, I like both sides of the coin)
Quiz Bowl team

Here's the list

Cornell (Reach)
USC (Reach)
NYU (Match/ Reach)
Boston College (Match/ Reach)
Duke (Match/ reach)
Miami (Match)
Boston University (Safety/ Match)
Drew (safety)
Dickinson (safety)

NYU is my first choice and dream school and I applied EA and included all my unique "baggage" in my essays. Please evaluate my chances and be honest!

Thanks!

Oh and I have about 150 hours of volunteering at a hospital.

And I skipped 2 years of Spanish to meet the new IB requirements at my new school and Passed with a B+ the first year and an A the 2nd year. Ok I'll shut up now.

while i'm not sure how severe the upward trend is, it seems like your gpa coupled with your SAT scores(especially the SAT) will take you out of the running for cornell, USC, NYU, BC, and DUKE. Maybe a slight shot at NYU. The others I can realistically see you getting in, but i'm not sure if any of them besides dickinson can be considered a true safety. Another match I would recommend Is notheastern.

As for mentioning the "baggage," i'd think it could possibly help if you say how it has affected you.

Anyways, good luck and I hope I am wrong.
