OK, How much of a problem is this going to be????

I thought I had registered to send my October SAT scores along with my registration, making use of my four free reports, but it turns out I had done that for my November scores. Now, I am applying ED to Penn, and Scores come out on the 28. I called Collegeboard today and they said that if I send scores after they are released electronically, it can take up to two weeks for the scores to be sent, and then the schools processing time. SO, is this alright if I just normally sign up to send my scores, or do I really need to sign up for the rush delivery. ALSO, does Penn accept rushed scores.

I feel so stupid for not being thorough with this, I mean I could have fixed this problem as late as yesterday. Any advice.

Wow, I didn’t realize that sending the scores on the 28th would be a problem…I would also like to know if anyone has an answer.

I would rush the scores just to be safe. In the whole scheme of a $200,000 education, this additional cost is a drop in the bucket.

I took the SAT (reasoning) in October too, but I talked to one of the admission reps at Penn and she told me it was fine, that I could even take the SATs in November and I’d be fine with ED.
This was part of her e-mail:
“You may take November SATs and still apply Early Decision to Penn – you’ll just need to have the scores rushed to us so we have time to evaluate them.”

Hope it helps!

Which score comes out the 28th, the October or the November score?

As I understand it, CB transmits all requested scores about every 2 weeks and I believe it coincide with the score release date for each test. If you request scores with your 4 free ones, it will be just as fast as the rush score request, so it is basically a waste to request a rush score for a not yet released test result that you already made with your free reports. I could be wrong but this is the way I always understand how it works.

You also can change the 4 free scores request up until a couple of weeks after the test date. I don’t know whether this has expired for October score but you may want to check and send those for free. The November ones will be sent to the 4 schools that you selected as soon as they come out.

yeah I will probably end up rushing them just to be safe, I just sent my ACT scores just now since I got freaked out by this whole business so at least some test scores will be there when I submit my app. Yeah I am taking a November SAT as well, for that I guess I just rush the scores.

EDIT: I just emailed Penn Admissions, hopefully by tomorrow they will give me a concrete answer.

I don’t think you have to rush October Scores, just November scores. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.

But when you send scores do you send SAT and SAT IIs all at once?

You don’t need to rush October score but you don’t even need to send October scores if you are sending November scores. November scores will be all encompassing. Also when you send a score, the default will be all scores including past scores (SAT Is and SAT IIs) unless you purposely use ScoreChoice to omit something.

well I want to submit the october scores, before the ED deadline, and then submit my one subject score from november when I get it. This way I can have some peace of mind knowing that all of my SAT stuff is in except the one subject Score. I think I will still rush the October scores, again just for peace of mind.
