OK I got accepted in 3 universities and need some help now.

So I got in and got accepted but first my situation.

My situation, I have spent about 1 1/2 years at my CC and am looking to transfer and I got accepted and have gotten the letters. I am or was majoring in business and then I had a small internship or sorts and I hated it. Decided the business world is not for me. Long story short I changed my major WHEN applying to these universities.

University of Maine, Wyoming, and Montana are the ones I got in. Most likely accepting wyoming.

Now I am a bit lost on what to do exactly. I mean I will be done passing English 101 and 102 and most electives but all the business ones will be garbage and I am ok with that. I do plan to start over anyway.

Heres the dilemma, did the colleges accept me knowing that. I mean they saw the business courses and what not but are they assuming I will have done like most required courses for geology majors.

I mean how is it decided when you get accepted.

Should I send a letter to each of the Uni telling of them the situation?

I don't wanna say YES and then go for the transfer credit evaluation and be told, of crap you don't have any of the requirement. Like they tell me goodbye and I am screwed for life you. Not gonna lie I am scared.

Also what happens if I like you panic and fail all the courses I am currently taking at My CC. They want final transcripts sent too.

I'm not failing any of them, infact getting an A in 4/5, the other one is C. The one with the C is a repeat because I got a D last time. If I fail it again, isn't it like you get probation or something. Thats where the panic comes. Should I just drop the class to be safe because I won't be needing it anyway for geology.

Thanks for whoever answers.

Call the schools and ask them their policy about changing your major once you start; it may depend on how many of your credits transfer.

Colleges can rescind your acceptance if your final transcript doesn’t show acceptable grades.

Thanks entomom, I will call but now I ma concerned on who to call. Should I call an individual or just the general admission office. I mean how in the hell do I word this

Also I don’t want to mess up when asking this question on what basis did they accept me as. I don’t want to make them sound stupid or anything. Also afraid that it might ruin my chances even thought I am already accepted.

Call the Admissions office, tell them that you are an accepted transfer student who has a few questions.

Perhaps the best place to start is to ask how many of your credits transferred and what year that would make you. If you will have soph standing, there shouldn’t be any problem changing your major as most schools have until the end of soph year to declare a major; ask them if that’s the case. If you have jr standing and applied as a business major, then you likely need to ask them about your ability to change your major.

I wouldn’t worry about them withdrawing your acceptance for asking these questions, you don’t have to say that you ARE going to change your major, only that you are considering the possibility.

Thanks Entomom. I just checked Uni of Montana will accept me as sophomore it seems and they will transfer the 40 credits I have. Thanks man. Now waiting on other 2 to answer.
