Ok, I got sucked in

I am sick of my counselors pumping crap into my head. Someone tell me what you think:
Just to let you know (embarrassment) I have proved to be not very successful at standardized test taking, I have a major time issue--
SAT II--(prediction) 730-780 Lit, 700-730 US History, and something unbelievably horrible in Math IIC
SAT I-- 2040 (I'm re-taking it but expect no higher than 2100) 740 W (dammit!), 680 M (boo), 620 V (can't believe it).
ACT--29 (I'll probably get a 30-31), that's all I have to say, but I got a 12 on the essay!

I don't really know what the whole weighted and unweighted thing means, but I have a cumulative GPA of 4.22 and I've never gotten a B.

Valedictorian of 265
This year's Classes: AP Calc AB, AP US History, Honors American Lit, Physics, College level spanish 3, Advanced Art, journalism (news editor of the paper--possible co-editor in chief for next year)--Basically, I will have taken every possible AP/Honors class offered at my school by the time I graduate [My school sucks]

BLAH BLAH BLAH overboard

My essays and letters of recommendation are what will get me into colleges if anything.

And I'm a half-black girl and I want to major in cultural anthropology, if that matters

Yet, you put no colleges down to analyze for. 4.22 is your weighted GPA.

I think you have a great shot wherever you decide to apply. Your grades are very strong, plus you have leadership, and you're a URM.

i think you should look at cornell. your grades are solid and being an urm helps. also like asdftt123 said, you have a great shot wherever you decide to apply. good luck!

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself!! HYPSM might be a reach, but other than that I see you getting in almost everywhere. You are on target for Duke, Brown, Dartmouth, Penn, Columbia, etc.

Yay! Sorry, I'm looking at Brown, Columbia, Princeton (just a shot), and Yale scared me. But what do URM and HYPSM mean?

URM = Under Represented Minority
HYPSM = harvard, yale, princeton, stanford, MIT

URM = Under-represented Minority (Black, Native American, Hispanic, a few others)
HYPSM = Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT

Even though you have a good chance, I would apply to other schools apart from the Ivy Leagues because you need more safety schools.

definitely...I think I have a guaranteed spot at one of the UC schools, and I think that Reed in Oregon may be a safety
