Ok so I messed up my Fall 2016 grade I got my first D in my non-major math course. Brought my GPA down to a 2.8. But i’m positive that my GPA will be back up 3.0 or higher by end of spring 2017 (If this helps). Now please tell me LOL if I have any chance to get into UCI. I did have a medical problem, so I had to miss classes. Also, I have prove for my medical problem. FYI: not planning to retake the D course.
Major: Psychology (But I request to change it to Psychology and social behavior <hopefully they change it)
Alt Major: Sociology
UC Transferable GPA:2.8
IGETC:Completed
EC:Not too bad, except I don’t have any honor or award lol
School applied: UCI(first choice) UCSD UCR and UCSB
The bare minimum requirement is 2 English courses and math. Those must be completed for consideration. They make that clear in several places – these are the bare minimum. Plus many STEM majors say on assist to get the English and math done at the very least but the others can be completed at the UC.
I know several STEMs who got into Berkeley without completing breadth, so everything i have witnessed is that it can be completed after transfer. But there is definitely a conflucting statement, which is confusing.
@Ohm888 well I finish all those requirement already, but just the math class I take is not part of my major course. But yes I finish the requirement for transfer math course. Still have like 2 pre req class need to complete but on assist Uci said this major does not need to finish all pre req
Ok looking at the transfer stats for UCI (below), you will do better with Psych and Soc Behavior, although your GPA is still under the mid-range. Also, sorry for the post about gen ed. I was responding to the above poster and now see you completed IGETC, so it was irrelevant.
Anyway, i would retake the class and get those two other major courses in. You really need to bring your best game.
Also, you should try and let them know you changed your major - not sure how that works and if you can even do it during this interim period.
@Ohm888 yeah I called Uci about the major change, they said give me few days and they will updated on the portal. But I might have to call again if they didn’t do that for me before 1/31/2017 Thank you btw.
