OK, lets talk science!

When i took the OCtober ACT, i felt like i only answered half of the questions b/c of the time limit. did anyone else feel this way?

i was about to get screwed on the science. i had two minutes left and had just finished the second-to-last passage. however when i turned the page to the last passage it was stuff i already knew, so i did not have to read the passage in order to answer the questions. :)

that last passage was hard for me because i did nuclear chem. such a long time ago that i couldnt remember anyything, and reading the passage didnt help

The last passge with all that chem stuff on it killed me. -_-

I dont know, Whenever i take the act sciecne, ive been finishing the test w/ 5min remaining. But hten again i usually end up w/ a 29 on it. So it is kinda stupid

i wish i had done the last one first cuz i knew stuff on it but i ran out of time cuz i spent too much on the other sections. i had to guess on like the last three or four.

I think it was one of my best sections. One of the two I actually finished.

I thought it was a lot easier. On the past two ACTs I took, my science score was around a 29-30 and this time I got a 35 on science.

How do you know what you got this time?

yeah - how do you know?

i find science to be the hardest section. do people need some previous knowledge (at least a bit) on some subjects of science??? (sceince is my biggest weakness)

Previous knowledge will be a serious advantage considering the time limit on this test. Some questions even covertly require prior knowledge.

did anyone get a section that was 2nd to last one about seaweed and its growth according to the sea level it was found in?

it was so hard and confusing. It had like 9 variables to look at!

ack, science. i guessed on like 7 questions...

19382 & lollipop - You can view your scores early on the ACT website if you pay 8 dollars.

TIMING was the huge issue for me. In my opinion, I understood most of the material but did not have enough time completely read everything and be confident in my answers.

I had a really bad experience on the science section when I first took the ACT (June). I spent way too much time on the first two sections and then thought I finished early after the fourth. (Stupid I know, because half of my bubbles were empty...) I realized this mistake with 1 minute left, so I guessed on the last half of the test. In preparation for my second try (October), I really worked on timing myself. I targeted spending 4 minutes per section and did about 3 full science practice sections. On the real test, I wrote the start time of each section on the top of the page and what my ending time should be. (I wore a digital watch.) If I was really unsure about a question, I put an answer down anyways but then put a huge circle around the question. Aiming for 4 minutes per passage gave me about 4 minutes at the end to check over my work and go to ones that I was unsure about. I went from a 22 from the first time to a 29 the second time. Not a stellar score, but a definite improvement. Good luck!

yepp timing is probably the #1 big issue in the ACT tests

The week before my first ACT I got a 25 on the practice science test. On the real one I got 34 the first time, and 33 the next.

It's weird.

wow that's really weird.

mellow, I already got my scores, but sanchez posted scores before they were available online.
