For the past summers since my freshman year, I have been going to some really poor and rural Chinese countryside with Chinese Volunteer Organizations and some college students. What we do there is to distribute donation items, at the same time, we stay there and help out farmers and their living condition. We also tried to formalize and improve their schooling system, I taught English and the correct Mandarin pronunciation to those kids. We also give out lectures and advices to those kids and tried to help them to walk out the poverty. I think it is a really life changing experiment in my life, because the condition and the poverty there is unimaginable. Also, there is no running water and formal medication. I got bad fewer and was sick for weeks. And it was shocking that I can use a box of color chalks to impress the children for days, not even mentioning cellphone, laptop that I brought with me. I hope this can stand out in my application because I don't see a lot teens actually going to those poorest place in a third world country nowadays. And there is something those people touched me, like I saw death because they have no medication so they rely on superstitious. So I want to be majoring in Premed, hopefully someday later, I can go back there and really bring some benefits to them.

I also have internship at Chinese hospital every summer.

I have certificate for those volunteer works, if that will help.

I noticed on gacollge411.com it says tat Emory's Admissions requirements:
Minimum grade average of "B" in advanced courses required.

I didn't see that part on Emory's website, but I had a C(with the 10 additional point) in one AP class, is that a automatic rejection for me?

I say dont worry about it.... you record is very good, especially as a junior. I would say tech and UGA is 100%, and JHU and Cornell maybe at 70%, which is high compared to the 30% chance a typical student has of getting accepted
