ok pitt sent me a letter saying they wanna see my midyear grades...

before making a decision on me

besides good grades what can i do to increase my chances of acceptance?

look. if pitt is your top choice, you have a good shot. pitt is saying to you that they must be concerned with your gpa through junior year (obviously i don't know what that ) and they want to see that you have shown improvement through January. It sounds likw your sat scores must be solid

just work hard on your grades, call pitt admissions and let them know you received their letter and am going to work hard to get your grades up by midterm.

if you get good grades, it sounds like you will have a good chance

Often that is standard admission policy. Call Pitt and let them know that your grades will be sent as soon as possible. Make sure your guidance counselor sends the official midyear grades promptly. Remember Pitt operates on a rolling decision basis. If your grades are good and your scores are within the range- then you should be okay. I would not panic about admissions wanting to see midyear grades. good luck!

Do you mind if I ask you what you got on your SATs and what your GPA was so i have an idea if i'm getting a letter

sat: 1270
gpa: 3.0
