Ok... SO does this mean my TAG was accepted???!!!

TAG program. Once you apply to UC Irvine for transfer admission, we will review your TAG and notify
you of your transfer admission status by the end of April. It is important to remember that in
order to maintain your TAG eligibility, you must meet the following conditions: </p>

all fall term grades and any spring term course changes;

• Complete all other minimum UC transfer admission requirements.

<p>Students who do not meet UC Irvine’s TAG criteria may still be competitive for admission to UC
Irvine as a general transfer applicant. If, for any reason, you are unable to meet the conditions of
the TAG, an offer of admission will depend on your completion of transfer admission requirements and

<p>It is just a confirmation that you have submitted and they have received your TAG application. UCI does not give early admission decisions for TAG applicants so you will have to wait until April along with all the other applicants. HOWEVER, if you fulfill ALL of the TAG requirements and keep your GPA at the minimum required, you are guaranteed admission. Just make sure you turn in your application for admission this month, as that is one of the TAG requirements.</p>

Sadly, the OP chose not to take physics. A yearlong sequence is required for UCI engineering, all majors. Unless the OP takes 2 physics classes in the spring he/she will be rejected.</p>

<p>No, I’m not 100% sure because I’m not a counselor so I can’t guarantee that when they say “required” they really mean it. But the UCI website does say required; you should check for yourself. And like I wrote in the other thread, if we exchanged places I’d be on the phone tomorrow to the UCs you are considering.</p>

<p>Alkalinium, the email you got was just a confirmation they received your TAG. It is pretty much stapled to your UC application that you send in and will be considered when they look over your application. What TAG means is, if you satisfy ALL the requirements they state, you are theoretically guaranteed in. IF, by chance, you do not fulfill the TAG requirements, they will push you down to regular admissions (paired against all normal transfers, high school transfers, and whatnot) where you will definitely have a lower chance of getting in. I cannot stress how much you need to fulfill EVERY requirement the TAG policy states, I had everything completely done but did not see the “must have good standing at all UCs” and my TAG was void instantly (I did bad at UCSC, transferred back to local CC and applied for UCI).
