aim higher, go stanford :).

You have a strong shot at either school. You would probably get into JHU ED. Stanford is up in the air for almost every applicant. Good luck!

You don’t seem that unique for Hopkins. Numbers are average for the school. ED is a good choice if you love Hopkins. I don’t think you’re as sure of a bet as you think it is at either of these schools. ED will help.

GL

Snowy: I think you are very impressive, and either school would be lucky to get you. These options are so vastly different, that I don’t know what to say. Pick the environment you like best, and go for it. I can only tell you that Hopkins is wonderful!

Unless you are really sure that JH is your undisputed first pick go for RD because your stats are on the top 25% of the accepted students, maybe on the top 10%, so ED will not increase your chances to get in. On the other hand, if Stanford is your first choice then go for it first because much harder to get accepted there. Don’t forget that admissions at any HYPS and certain programs at other top schools can never be counted as sure so better to spread your chances around.

I think the above post is a bit misleading. I’m assuming you want sciences based on your profile and Hopkins, of all places, is incredibly hard to be admitted for students wanting to study science. It’s like the science Mecca of the US.

For you, they should be viewed as equally selective and equally competitive.

ED to the one you love and expect nothing from either in RD.

GL

thanks for the variety of opinions guy! and yes, wealthofinformation, I know it’s not easy to get into either of these school and I respect them both:) but i’ve made my choice. I think i’m doing early stanford.
