Awards night last night - my son was presented with his appointment. The only other appointment went to his friend TJ, who went AFA (there are about 800 graduating seniors). I must admit, I had big tears in my eyes....

LOL!! See everyone? I'm not the only one out there! You are awesome JRH. What an exciting time for your family. More is coming so hang on to your seat! Parent's Week-end will rock your world for sure.

WAY TO GO TYLER!!!!! You're gonna look good in those dress whites buddy! Hey, can I have the girls? Tell them that we eat chocolate cake for breakfast in my house! ;) I'll trade you two mean annoying little dogs for them! Now go hurry up & get your KP gear ready. You need bumper stickers for all the vehicles, t-shirts & sweatshirts, hats, one of those cool fleecie blanket things, a purse for mom, a couple of beer steins for when people come over, and a flag. And start buying batteries for the camera now to get a good stockpile!

You should be VERY proud! Congrats to the entire family! Now the excitement begins! I would encourage you to stay involved. Get in touch with the closest parents club. Colorado has very good and active USMMA parents clubs. Your son will need encouragement and support to get thru the stresses of the P/C trimesters (until recognition). You can also get lots of questions answered by parents who have "been there before you". Info on: visiting, reporting, what to send and when, the local NY area, beat places to stay, etc.

Sigh. Oh well Boss. All we can do is try. LOL Nobody ever gives us anything. :( I've tried about 10 people on here for some kids. People just won't share anymore. LOL

Yep JRH, you'd better hang with us in here. Especially during Indoc. If you look back at some of the posts around that time last last year, you'll see all of us service academy parents boo-hoo-ing on each other's virtual shoulders and asking tons of questions. The ones that went before us sure lightened the load & made things better. You get totally cut off during that period and die to see the photo pages that are posted. Have mom rub Tyler's head with all that hair while she can cause its goin' bye-bye soon!

How's this for cheesy? - I had the opportunity to attend an event today where the Congressman that nominated Tyler was - so I had him sign his appoinment letter - is that over the top? :) Click here to see the picture
