ok so. im just like...regular. nothing stellar. but chance me anyway?

<p>since the beginning of my junior year i have been obsessed with vassar. i have a friend who attends. and i have no other desire to attend anywhere as much as i do vassar. im applying early decision at the end of this year. im not sure i have all of those crazy ec's that i see everyone else has. my scores are fine though. </p>

applying ED</p>

<p>act: 29 (33E 27M 27S 28R) 9essay with a 31 combined english/writing
(im still taking it 2 more times and i am confident i can raise my comp. to a 31 atleast)</p>

<p>gpa: 3.75</p>

<p>regarding my classes, i am very limited. my school does not offer any ap's and i dont have electives. the most i can do to influence the courses i take is to converse with my principal on classes my class would like to take. im sure vassar wont penalize this disadvantage.
the credits i will have received by the end of my senior year will be such:
4.0 credits of religion (im not sure if this is counted as a social study with some colleges)
1.0 credit of philosophy
4.0 credits of english
2.0 credits of literature
4.0 credits of math (including algebra 1, 2, advanced math, and calc)
4.0 credits of science (earth, bio, chem, physics)
.5 credit of health
2.0 credits of latin
2.0 credits of french
1.0 credit of creative writing
2.0 credits of history
1.0 credit of art (mosaics)</p>

<p>(I.E. IT IS A VERY LIBERAL ARTS ORIENTED CURRIC.)</p>

tutoring for younger students in my school, 2 days/week
president and founder of my school's ybook club
latin club- attended kentucky junior classical league convention where i won 6th place in the vocab competition. my team won 4th in the certamun competition.

sales and shift leader at my part time job-great american cookies since august 07 :)

<p>Overall, I'd say you're in fine shape and should have a decent shot at getting in. Don't be concerned about not having APs or some of the "crazy" ecs that others might have... its understood that not everyone has the ability to do these, so you won't be penalized. The facts that you're from Kentucky and are a first generation college student should definitely help your application a bit. And, as I'm sure your aware, proving that you're partially American Indian would also give you quite the boost. Nevertheless, even without these "hooks," I'd say your chances are quite decent.</p>

1st gen. male applying to vassar ED from kentucky..... i didnt think that that would be a common occurance.</p>
