I was deferred from Michigan in Feb...but my stats are pretty low. I've been looking at the stats for some of the other deferrals and they blow me out of the water! I don't stand a chance against these other deferrals...which made me kind of think. Does Michigan send out rejections at all? Or is EVERYONE who isn't admitted deferred...just in case. I just haven't seen anyone respond saying they were rejected without being deferred first...and with my stats I don't understand why they would even reconsider me. So..anyone got an answer?

no im pretty sure plenty of people get rejected, but michigan does have a pretty high acceptance rate (like 47%?) so i guess there's lots of acceptances/deferrals as well. just curious, waht are your stats?

Don't give up all hope. My stats were pretty crappy compared to others, but I made up for it with strong essays and a heavy course load throughout high school and I got in (much to my surprise as well).

I'm surprised I was even deferred...compared to the amazing stats of the other deferrals. 1850 SAT, oos, 29 ACT, private college prep school with no honors or AP...o___o I'm so getting rejected.

I also got deferred last year (in Jan I think) with a 2010 SAT, 3.85 weighted HS gpa, decent essays and mediocre EC's (no leadership...just volunteer work and a bit of other stuff). On April 15th I found out I was waitlisted.

I applied again as a transfer and I got in (LSA)!!!

nah as long as your midyear is good you should have a chance.
