Ok, this is really annoying...

<p>this first:</p>

<p>you guys know how we often say "because of"? I'm getting confused by when is it okay to use that and when it is not. for example, we say "Because of him, I am grounded tonight." but in other cases we might say "I'm grounded tonight because I didn't do my homework." I know this probably sounds stupid and querulous, but I've been confused on the W section more than once by this stupid problem. </p>

<p>How do you guys study for idioms? I'm not native born American, and I almost always miss 1-3 idiom questions on the writing section. A lot of time these idiom errors just don't appear to me as clearly as some other types of error.</p>

<p>Idioms are, of course, usually picked up through ordinary living. But since you're a non-native speaker, you'll need to study them. </p>

<p>The Kaplan Comprehensive Program book has a list of idioms. I reccomend you go to your local book store and study the list. </p>

<p>Do note, that there's never more than one idiom question on a given SAT. Many times -- more often than not -- there is none.</p>
