I don't want to offend anyone... but I was wondering if many GW students try to transfer to Georgetown, and if they are often successful? Or, do people often come to GW and fall in love with it and, generally, decide to stay at the university?

Of all the people I met, only 2 people have tried to transfer from GW to Gtown. One was successful. I know a lot of people who were hesitant to come to GW and now really enjoy their time here. I think it's something that's not unique to GW. Sometimes, people might need to "grow into" the school they choose.

One of my best friends transferred to Georgetown... She had like a 3.8+ gpa. Another friend of mine attempted to transfer, but they rejected her with a 3.6-ish gpa.

The schools in DC are all pretty different. Personally, I've always felt that GW was the best for my academic level... So I guess you could say I'm one of those people who found a good fit. If my SAT scores had been 200+ points lower or higher, I may have considered American or Georgetown (respectively), but GW was just a really good match in general and I never considered any other school in DC. It's fun going to school with people who are generally all really smart... We don't have a lot of stupid/average people (or on the other end, rare geniuses). For most people I know on campus, I think GW is a good match.
