Do most people on here attach resumes to their applications? Do most people outside of CC? I really would like to just fill out the application and not worry about a resume, but it seems like almost everyone on here does.

I'm not planning on applying to places like Ivies or anything. Places like BC, Wake Forest, UNC-CH, etc.

Yeah, a lot of people here do, but in general, it's probably not all that common. You'll be fine if you don't, just make sure you are sufficiently thorough when filling out the activities sections of the apps.

what could you possibly add to a resume that is not already on you app? if you need to add anything, fit it into an essay, or put it on the additional info section. wouldnt a resume be repetitive with all the other stuff on your app anyway?

A resume can be useful for explaining certain ec's. I used a resume to explain what my role was in each EC. For example, what projects we did in student council and what my responsibilities were. Helps schools get a better feel for what you actually contributed to the activitiy. You just have to be careful not to go overboard (my whole thing was only a page). It worked out pretty well for me.

Yeah, when I first came to CC, all this talk about resumes was definitely news to me, I mean I didn't send one nor did anyone from school really send one. I think it can just be excessive at times, and it really isn't all that necessary, but hmmm, if those feel they need it go ahead and use it, though I did fine without a resume, so...

They're very popular at private high schools. My guidance counselor wants everyone applying to a USNWR Top-50 school to include them in their applications.

Otherwise (and outside of CC), they're not very common. Many applicants, even those who are accepted, don't include them.
