"Wow. Honestly, I'm started to become curious as to why I got accepted. I mean, I'm an out-of-state resident and I'm Asian (hahah, I include this because there's a lot of Asians at UC schools). I have a mediocre SAT score, as well as SAT subject tests scores."

luckyely91;Will you be paying out of state prices? I'm sure you are a deserving admit, no matter WHAT your stats, but I'm wondering if OOS is favorably looked upon this year.

@ Shrinkrap - Yeah, if I chose to go to UC Davis, then I'll have to pay out-of-state fees. :( I'm still debating whether or not I should go there or to University of Nevada, Reno. :P I don't, however, know if OOS residents have any sort of advantage though... I mean, 10 people applied to Davis from my school and only 2 got in!!! It's weird!

Got denied at Cal Poly Panoma though too. Whats going on with that?

Thanks Shrinkwrap! Davis is the closest to home so apparently the universe wants her further away :)

Brassring she isn't sure. She has CP SLO and 6 privates plus she is still waiting on her last decision.

To all who were accepted I am tickled for you really! D's good friend was also accepted with stats lower than D's and virtually no school involvement but into a different major. No one should feel undeserving you are all top students with excellent credentials or you wouldn't have even been eligible. Enjoy this :D :D you will have a fabulous experience.

Im still mad about being rejected from UCD especially, but UCSD and UCSB just to add insult to injury....

to the earlier post. Cal poly IS a bit easier to get into since it's a CSU. Many ppl with lower stats apply than they do for davis. So davis just has many more qualified applicants including many who have 4.5 gpas and 2200s SAT since davis is their safety. Not as many top students apply to slo.

I know I'm going to get flamed by USC fans but, overall I'd like to say that acceptance percentages don't mean much. USC has a 22% acceptance rate since a ton of people with low stats apply there. Basically people who get rejected at davis this year can get into USC even though davis's acceptance rate is so much higher.

^ Very true. Acceptance percents do not tell the whole story.

I think people with subpar stats (3.0UC GPA 1600 SAT) apply to all the CSUs because that is where they think they are going. Not to bash SLO, but it is a CSU. Some students may think it is as easy to get into as CSU Chico.

On the other hand, UCD has the UC title, which instantly gives it more prestige, and these lower students tend not to apply.

Is SLO better than UCD? Well, I have my opinion, but SLO is definitely not harder to get into than UCD, especially if you are looking at acceptance rates to find cause.

Hi everyone. I applied for transfer for Fall '09 and it's a total mystery as to whether I'll be accepted. I applied with a 4.0 GPA, but I still have a number of units to complete by May (28) -- which I'm confident I'll have done since I did 22 last semester with no problem. Do you know if UC Davis takes this into account? I'm an English major, so I didn't have to complete all of my lower division major classes (not all of them were offered in my district anyway). I've been checking twice a day but no answer as of yet...I am pretty nervous...

^
No I'm completing my 60 units in one year. I didn't want to wait another 2 semesters to transfer -- especially since I had more than half my units done last semester.

ilikeoranges:
i actually had a 4.0 at 32.6 units -- when I applied. My projected grades thus far are pretty much all A's, except for maybe a B in Statistics. When do you think the next batch of admission/rejection statements will be released?

bookjunkie I know you weren't asking me but people were murmuring that it might be April 9-10 at the latest, if no batch is released earlier. Not sure though!

I was insanely surprised to get into UCD. I thought none of the UC's I applied to would accept me, due to me having some serious grade problems last year (and consequentially prerequisite shortcomings).

But by now, UCD/UCI/UCSB have all accepted me, so I guess I'm not as surprised at UCD in particular anymore. :)
