This June 4th SAT was my first time taking any SAT, ever, except 2 PSAT's, but never took an old or new SAT.

My Score:
710 CR
600 M
600 W (9/12 Essay)

Now, I'm looking at applying to:

BC - Early Action
BU - RD
GWU - ED (My #1 School)
Wake Forest - RD
American - RD
Tufts (As a Reach) - RD

I was curious as to how this score will affect my chances at these schools, I took the ACT w/ Writing as well and all of those schools, save for Wake Forest accept that in lieu of SAT's and SAT Subject Tests, so, if I did well on those, I'm not going to even worry about it, but presuming somehow I bombed the ACT's, does that SAT score give me a shot at those schools?

Thanks,
Ben

Any opinions, hehe

I suppose not then, :-p

Does anyone have an idea perhaps?

retake the SAT, especially for a higher math score

You'll have a good chance in getting into the first five since your score is more a 1310, since writing is not as important.

It seems like with a little study and taking some practice tests, you could get math up significantly and writing up by at least 30 points.

You still have a shot at those, though they may be a reach, unless your EC's, SAT IIs and other stats and stuff are good.

Well, my EC's are fairly solid, but I took the ACT w/Writing instead of the SAT II's. I really can't gauge anything though until tommorow when I get my ACT scores because all of the schools I'm applying to, save for Wake, accept the ACT w/Writing instead of the SAT entirely, so if it's higher, that's all they'll look at. I'm just praying it is higher, as I don't really want to retake either one.

These schools may require SAT II's if you take the SAT, you probably need to pay attention to that, if in the end you use the SAT.

^ Nah, like I said, since I took both, and I know I'll do at least as well on the ACT's, I'll probably end up using those as my main score.

Any other opinions on the matter, although I suppose there can't be areal assessment until tommorow when I get my ACT scores.
