Ok..........

Its been 21 days since I was finally qualified medically and Im waiting to hear from WP....?!?!? Can I at least get rejected?? Jeeeeze I need to know because it affects other things in my life!

cool.

be patient

i just heard back from my admissions officer telling me that i am the FOUTH alternate in my district... ouch... he said that the top 2 people have already been offered, but nobody has taken the bait yet i guess... here i come, davis!

Does WP have to accept so many people per district/state?

~1

:-/

yeah, go aggies!

here i come irvine! :p go zots!...i think??? lol

But i just received an email saying that I may or may not be ready for WP and major houston wants to sign me up for the jr military college plan just in case

Signing up for the "jr. military college plan" is a fallback for admission to WP for this year, but will almost guarantee you a slot for next year providing you do well academically (and are actually offered the slot). How much you want to go to WP is up to you at this point. Some advice -- if you turn down the civil prep. plan, it will likely seal your fate as far as admissions for this year (in a negative way). Think about it.

i got a letter from west point today saying that i am academically and physically qualified, but need to get medically qualified. I'm hoping to hear from dodmerb within the next couple of weeks. I guess after I get medically qualified I get plopped into the NWL?

I am just curious, why do you guys want to go here? I think it's very cool, but what made you want to go to military school? :)

"I guess after I get medically qualified I get plopped into the NWL?"

Ah crap really?! So theres no chance for direct acceptance now? Dangiiiiiiit.

I want to go so I can serve my country and I want to be a part of something greater than myself. West Pointers are also the most elite and I aspire to be the best at everything I do.

good reason :) (i don't support the war in iraq, but i support youu)

"Ah crap really?! So theres no chance for direct acceptance now? Dangiiiiiiit."

i dunno, i was asking a question. Since I'm not the principal nominee, I would think that they would just drop me in the NWL and pull me out if the people above me in the district decline.

and im going to west point for the babes

Oh alright then...

my mom talked to mark houston and he said that the reason im fourth alternate is because my district ranked me as that.... its kinda lame because i feel like my fitness test and essays and all that was kinda a waste because besides getting me qualified, it won't get me out of fourth alternate. he said that he is very interested in me and that if I do rotc at a good school i will have a really good shot at 2011. hmmmmm

sweet dude, maybe I could be in your class....

Just so you guys know... You're going to go into West Point with these ideals, which is awesome. But West Point is a place just like anywhere else. It is not a dream. I thought it was, but you'll see when you get here. I'm not saying it's bad... It's different. You'll see.

Will it burn the fat off our souls?

That is Hemmingway btw.
