Okay...did I just make a reallly big mistake?

I'm sooooo scared. Not the CC scared, but actually scared.

Okay so this is what happened,

I was tired, knocked out, and trying not to take this SAT Subject test because I couldn't concentrate. But because my mom already paid, I took it anyway.

BIG MISTAKE.

I got my SAt Subject scores back from Nov. 3 and this is what happened

-Math 600(I did this in my sophomore year and did slightly better then)
-Literature-560 (......)
-U.S. History 470( okay...W T F !!)

I honestly dont know what to do and im afraid of what they will say. I accidentally sent the scores already and i wish i didnt because ....usc didn't require them. What will they say!?

I mean in every history class I've been in, I've gotten in the high 80s and 90s especially US history cause its my favorite freaking SUBJECT. I can rattle off dates like its nothing....but i'm afraid that they might put a lot of emphasis on these scores.

It just wasnt a good day. especially after Sandy...it just was not my day....but im so scared....usc is my top choice and i did well on my regular SAT...but subject tests...i bombed. =( My grades are really good too...
GAHH

help me baby jesus. What do you guys think?

242 views…not one reply…come on really?

I think it depends on all the other parts of your application - reg. SAT scores, GPA, class rigor, ECs, essays, etc - if everything else is stellar I don’t imagine one set of scores will totally blow your chances.

Re-take those SAT II’s and then resubmit the higher scores.

It’s too late. Go to a jc like Los Angeles community college and transfer in after your first year.

Seattle Really?
I would never waste my life over one set of scores and go to a jc…I worked to hard to get into this top par boarding school for that crap =/

Pretty sure Seattle is joking…there’s not much more you can do at this point, but definitely email your counselor and explain the circumstances, especially if it was Sandy related.

Email my counselor from USC? What should I say?

Sent from my LG-VM696 using CC

Thanks for helping me guys. And I hope Seattle was joking

Sent from my LG-VM696 using CC

Yeah, I’ve emailed my counselor about tons of things already. Just email him/her and explain the mishap and the circumstances surrounding the tests. If you can ask another specific question about your major or something it might make the transition into the subject test issue easier (and it always helps to show interest).

i emailed a counselor at USC about the same thing. They do not take subject test scores into decision when admitting people, only when placing them into classes. hope you feel better now

hmmm clever clever…so ask her about my major…okay okay.

elmohasagun(lol I love your name) only for classes? Okay that is kind of reassuring.

I’m still nervous. Like honestly, I put a lot of effort and energy into USC because…

  1. I love the school
  2. After 3 years I really want to be close to family again
3…That school is just awesome. I love the diversity and the opportunities…I swear I could sell this school to my whole grade…but barely no one is applying there…which is good for me.lol Let me be the only USC freak. lol

I’m glad your mistake is inconsequential; USC needs more prep/boarding school types like you. And I respect your reaction to my comment on jcs. Good luck!

OP: Don’t listen to Seattle, he tailors the majority of his posts to telling people to transfer because he feels that it’s the easy, “cheap” way to go, and has a bitter opinion that USC’s stats/reputation are severely tainted because of the apparently high number of transfer students they accept.

Anyway, while your scores are definitely low, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. You could maybe add a note that you weren’t in the right frame of mind to study for them. Plus, if you have a solid application (with a high SAT as you mentioned) then the low subject test scores might just be a blip on the radar.

However, at this point it’s pretty much out of your hands so hopefully they won’t put too much stock into it. Good luck!

Yes, don’t listen to someone who’s been there, done that, and has a well informed opinion.

^ You were factually and logically proved wrong on your stupid thread about transfer students and yet you still go on as if you’re oblivious to everything. Anyway, I’m done here.

Good, USC needs fewer fans who are comfortable living in denial.
