OKAY! I need help on reducing my essay please!

Well, I wrote (what I think to be) the best essay of my life! The only problem is that it is 781 words long. It's for the Common Application, which does not state a maximum length -- only a minimum (250 words). I was told by some of the CC'ers here though, that I should keep it to under 500 words. I've tried to tweak it a bit and I did manage to get it under 800 words, but I'm not sure what else I can do. Any tips? Or should I leave it 'as-is' because it's so unique and necessary? Thanks!

Oh what I wanted to add was that I used a lot of imagery to make you feel like you were there with me (I wrote about an accident that changed my life), so that's one of the only things that I could cut down on. And I did somewhat, but I'm afraid that if I take out too much, it'll just be boring and like: "I got in the car. There was an accident. It was painful but I overcame it." LOL, you know what I mean?
