Okay, the list is coming along...but I still need a little help

Note Dame and Georgetown would be fine, but you don't like BC? How about U of Southern California, Wake Forest, Davidson, Colgate, and Bowdoin as safeties and matches?

Thanks whedongirl

TourGuide, I'm kind of hesitant about applying to schools on the West Coast/side of the country. I know Stanford is over here, but that's a very isolated case (and one of its drawbacks for me). I've lived all over the place, but I definitely like to be on the East Coast or in the Midwest/Southeast.

Colgate and Bowdoin didn't appeal to me as much as Wake Forest or Davidson (the latter has strengths in my areas of interest). I go to a small LAC-ish high school, and it's definitely not what I want in college. I know most are larger than my school, but I'm just ready for a huge change. I've visited LACs and universities, and I definitely would prefer the latter. But there are definitely some interesting LACs out there, particularly Williams with its strong math department. BC is definitely under consideration, but I think I like Notre Dame better. I'll research those more though, thanks for the tips.

One of the last bumps, just in case someone else has something to add.

I would rate them as such. This is how I judge it based on the competitiveness of your school and your stellar stats. People here tend to be conservative in my view, but with your school I think this is more realistic.

Princeton - Reach
Harvard - Reach
Dartmouth - Low reach
Cornell - High Match
Duke - Low Reach/High Match
Georgetown - Match
Stanford - Reach
Notre Dame -Low Match/ High Safety
Tufts - Low Match/ Safety
Vandy - Low Match/High Safty

I bet you will get into either Dartmouth or Duke, and the other schools other than HPS you have a terrific chance at all of them, so no more safeties are really necessary. I bet you will get into at least one of HPS as well. My list is similar to yours in the way we chose schools and your stats are better than mine. Mine are HYPS, Penn, Columbia, Brown, Gtown, Wash U, Hopkins, Williams

Princeton - Maybe
Harvard - Maybe
Dartmouth - Probably In
Cornell - Probably In
Duke - Probably In
Georgetown - Definitely in
Stanford - Maybe
Notre Dame - Definitely in
Tufts - Maybe... Tufts like to reject qualified candidates because they know they won't attend- it's known as the tufts syndrome.
Vandy - Definitely In.

You have a good shot pretty much everywhere, make sure your essays and recs are good!

^I know, I need to nail my essays. :p I'm really excited about writing them though, because I want them to be fantastic.

Thanks Bescraze and Brown man! I think it's coming together, and I should have a final list soon. Thanks very much for the help.
