Okay this is getting annoying.

CR - 580. SAT virgin, taking it this Saturday. I've been using the tips of underling/marking line references, taking interest in reading, and the other tips. I still cannot seem to score higher. As for vocabulary, I have direct hits, but I cannot seem to be able to properly utilize it. Help me please?

how long have you been studying for the SAT?

I’d say roughly 3-4 months.

Honestly the best advice I can give you at this point is repetition. I took classes and read all the strategies, but what made me jump from a 540 to a 750 was straight up work. I worked through 2-3 tests a day in the week prior to the test, and its definitely what made the difference.

You get used to the type of questions and can usually guess the answer without reading the text after a while

Also, avoid answers with definite phrases i.e. “always”, “never”
Those choices are almost always wrong.

Just last week my CR was around a 560 now it’s a 690…

I don’t know what the **** happened but I’m glad it did. All I can tell you is get in the mindset. If you’re getting SC wrong all I can say is repetition and answer with words that you think you’ve recognized being used in similar context. (Of course, this shouldn’t be your main strategy)

For the passages, I think I got lucky because for some odd reason, I really enjoy them. Try to immerse yourself in them and think like a writer. All I can say, 4 days might be just enough if you have an epiphany.

I got a 750 in CR, biggest piece of advice? TAKE THE QUESTIONS LITERALLY.

Dang. I wish I could have that kid of jump. I’ve actually had something similar. My writing scores jumped from 540-'s to 750+ in a matter of days without practice, but I cannot seem to master the CR section although I was once a avid reader. The two choices I usually narrow down to is usually my flaw.

I’ll definitely try the repetitive practice these next few days.

You’d better do.

I was doing 580 points just 20 days ago , now I managed to attain 690. I confess it’s not a big jump but English isn’t my native language …perhaps that’s the reason for my sluggish progression in CR.

I am also getting CR score around 550. Can you guys tell me how you all raise your score in short time. Can you guys also tell me tips that you all used.
