hey i am new to this whole grad school experience (as i am a lowly freshman in college). okay so my question is

what exactly does it take to get into grad school? like i know you have to have a high gpa and gre scores but what about like volunteering, extracurriculars, awards, internships, and stuff?? what do top grad schools look for? is it kind of like applying to college from high school? THANK YOU!!!

of course your GPA and GREs are important, but you can make up for lackluster GREs if you have research and professional experience and really good letters of recommendation.
find a professor who can be your mentor in your studies, whom you feel comfortable asking a billion questions, and they will help you prepare yourself to get into a good school.
