I have an ACT score of 31 and an SAT super score of 2050. I would like to send both. My SAT scores are all over the place, though, and I know you have to send all of them. I got a 1650 on my first SAT, and I that means I'd have to send it. Penn says they look at only the highest, but if they want all scores sent, doesn't that mean they DO "look" at everything?

Should I send just the ACT, or both?

What about the subject tests? Do I have to send all of these, too?
I have a 710 and a 560 in the same sitting. I know you can pick the subject you want to send specifically, but sending all is sending all...

I don't know what to do! I feel like sending in just an ACT of 31 is bad.

i’m in an EXTREMELY similar position! I think i am going to study really hard and take 2 subject tests in october and hope for the best. I did not take the sat, but i have 4 act sittings and they were all horrible, except the last one. If i were you i would just send all my scores, and just try to improve your sat ii’s even though i doubt they truly can identify whether or not you have sent all of your scores. I have seen people get in who took the sat and act, but only sent their sat.

WATTTT?? this is soo crazzzyyyy! i have the same dillemma too, I got an ok sat score so i wanted to take it again but due to ED and subject tests i cant, but i got exactly a 710 and 560 too in one sitting! wat were ur subjects? mine were 710 in chem ( really awful cause i had ap chem) and 560 in USH (i think thats a new CC record lol)

To all the posters above:
I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but UPenn requires ALL scores of ALL exam sessions. I’m pretty sure they will consider all scores, but place majority of weight on the best. However, you are OBLIGATED to send ALL SAT AND ACT scores!! – not doing so could cause your application to be tossed before it is even considered.

I had the same issue. I emailed Penn to find out. If you DO have to send everything, sorry, but I think you should apply somewhere else. I probably will.

This sucks… I got a 520 in world history in 9th grade because I didn’t know any better about the schools that don’t accept score choice. Penn really needs to rethink their anti-score choice policy, as it really doesn’t make sense

if you want to go to Penn dont let anyone tell you to go somewhere else. Im trying to make up for these poor scores with 2 other subject tests, and while the 560 is horrible, i got an A in the Ap USH class, most likely will get 4/5 on the exam, and im not even majoring anywehere close to history (im science). SO, im hopeing all these will offset the 560, but another option is to simply take it again. If you have the same options like me and i would advise apply there anyway, others are trying to be *******s and tell you not to apply so less compitition.

I applied ED last year and only sent two of my subject tests, 750 math II and 660 Chem (both not good) and conveniently did not send my abysmal 610 USH. Now Im not sure if it just slipped through the cracks or what happened but I was accepted no problem. If i did it again i would probably send them all just cause they are looking to give you the benefit of the doubt on your scores and they truly will only count your best, and btw im not really conviced they put any near the same weight on the II’s that they put on the reasoning or the other pieces of the app.

^ yes: all subject tests, all SAT reasonings, and all ACT’s of every session.

A 600 will raise eyebrows even if you retest and score 800. However, don’t lose hope because they will see the test dates, and maybe understand that you were only a junior and didn’t have time to fully learn the material, etc.

Well that’s not good. All of mine we over junior year. I just improved a lot. Dangit…I’m hosed. Now I have to apply to Brown ED. Or not send it all to Penn and risk it.

Okay guys I have a dilemma with this. I took the SAT in 7th grade as part of Duke’s talent search. I’m now a sophomore. When I took it I didn’t study at all made around a 1300. Will I have to submit that?! I could probably take the SAT today without studying and go to around a 1900.

I am getting mixed answers. I have deciphered what Penn’s actual site means as: You are required to everything, even if you technically don’t have to send something.

So is it still worth applying ED with a few blunders? Or is worth risking it and sending only the ACT?
