I wanted to see if there are any current (or former) MFA students in Oklahoma City University's Ann Lacy School that would be willing to give any information on the program.

I've read extensively through the website, and I have researched and know it's the best of the best. My question is more along the lines of:

How many MFA students are admitted each year?

Any detailed audition advice beyond what the website states?

Any other experiences - good or bad - that you've had with the program?

Thanks!

I am a ocu dancer. The MFA program is tough but it gives you the credentials to be a University teacher. It is not walk in the park. I know that they are highly selective and there is no official published number that they except, but the most I have seen is five and the least is one admitted each year.

As for the auditions, it is a day long event. Read all directions and follow them to a “T.” They are big on rules. The only thing else I can say is about the audition solo. They want to see your personality and how you perform. This program is about entertainment dance.

The program is very different from other programs, usually younger. Some people seem to do well and some do not. I think it is like this everywhere. My suggestion is to look at the classes offered. If you want to learn what is offered, you will love it, if you just want an easy degree this is not the program for you.

Best wishes.
