<p>haha well I'm Jess. how's everybody doing on the app? I'm really starting to freak out because I, too, am a procrastinator. And I have a Latin test tomorrow that I have yet to study for. Which is not good. Has anyone asked the admissions people if they want first q. grades or not? I know someone said a while ago that they were pretty sure they were not required, but is anyone positive?</p>

So, i just joined and definitly have not had a previous name, but you guys all sounds like you're applying to Yale this year...yeah?</p>
<p>If you are, have you all visited the campus? I'm from Illinois, so the option is really not there to go visit, is that really bad?</p>
<p>Annabanana19, a visit is a nice way to demonstrate serious interest in a college. For a college with ultra-selective admissions stats like Yale, I doubt if a visit will be a make or break factor. (The visit seems to be more important at possible safety schools, who may waitlist or even reject super-qualified applicants that haven't expressed material interest in the school.)</p>
<p>If you are admitted, then be sure to take advantage of the inevitable visit they'll propose. Welcome to College Confidential!</p>
<p>When I visited Yale they wouldn't take a name, so there's no way they have a record of it. I don't remember filling out any forms while I was there. Some colleges pay attention to those things (Princeton did and Harvard did). Maybe I had a messed-up student guide or something.</p>
<p>Nope, Yale explicitly states that they don't keep track of visits, nor should you feel as if you have to keep in constant contact with the admissions office. </p>
<p>Demonstrated interest is all nice and good, but...who wouldn't want to go to Yale?!?</p>
<p>annabanana, I'm fron IL too (along with a few others on this Yale board) and I wasn't able to visit this summer because I was doing an internship in LA. I don't think it'll matter too much when it comes to admissions.</p>

<p>Hey all, I'm Chris. I'm new here, but I thought I'd introduce myself to other potential yalies. I live in Ct, about 40 minutes south of new haven, and personally, i dont think the city is bad at all. Obv., it has its icky spots, but i think its gorgeous, and there is always really cool stuff to do - i've been to concerts there, i go to lunch in nh every so often, etc. plus, theres an ikea there - yay :-D</p>
