Okay, so I've really been setting my eyes on ODU for awhile now, but I'm also looking at JMU, CNU as reach schools, and VCU as another match as well. My weighted GPA is 2.84 so far and I have senior year to go. Unweighted is 2.72. My first SAT I took without studying to get the feel of it and scored 1430 and I'm studying for my next two now. Is my chances at Old Dominion good with an improved SAT score? I'm also a minority, took IB classes freshmen year and AP sophomore and junior year. Played football for a year, clubs etc and doing community service senior year. I just have a feeling my GPA wont cut it for ODU..

Your SAT score is definitely good enough for ODU. Your GPA is okay (their recommended is a 3.3) but I’m sure they accept students with lower GPAs than yours especially if you have good AP scores, SAT score like you do, etc. What is your intended major?

Well my AP scores weren’t all that great, but i still maintained a good enough grade in the classes. And I’m leaning towards Dentistry. Oh and i forgot to mention I’ve also held jobs since 8th grade to show leadership and responsibility etc. Would VCU like my credentials as well?
