For those of you who took the old sat 2 writing and the new SAT, could you please post your sat 2 writing score and next to it your new SAT writing score. Thanks

My son received the same score on SATII Writing and new SATI
Writing -- low 700's. He took new SATI twice and this time he received an 11 on his essay but not so great on MC.

old vs. new

800 vs. 790/750

old: 800
new: 730

There's no doubt that the new one gives lower scores. It is just the way the test was centered.

old: 750
new: 800

haha, guess i'm the weirdo.

D: old/new both 770, but better composite scores for new ==>
leads me to think the new WR has harder curve?

From what I've read on these board, the new Writing definately has a harsher curve. The old SAT II Writing was relatively generous in allowing you to miss a decent number of questions and still get a 800. I'm pretty sure I missed 4-5 questions and got a 10 on the essay and still got an 800 on the old test...

My son did 760 on the old and 750 on the new...the essay is his weakness.
