Old Sat Vs New Sat

which score do u think will be more respected a 1350 on the old SAT or the mathamatical equivalent 1350....In other words do u think college will view the New SAT as harder

the mathamatical equivalent 1350? I don't think the new SAT was much harder, but it depends on the curve.

This is a non-issue.

All colleges that require the SAT at all, require the New SAT. It is too late for students to apply to college with old SAT scores. An SAT taken in Sophomore year is looked at in a different light, anyway.

That is incorrect. A number of colleges will still accept the old SAT, even more if you have taken the SAT II writing.

I stand corrected. But, the old SAT is no longer administered. This can only affect Juniors who have already taken the old SAT. . . which seems like bad planning to me, but (you're right) makes the question no less reasonable.

S's boarding school has the juniors take the SAT in January of junior year. Interestingly enough, the GC told us the kids often do very well on the January test, and then they have it in their pocket. Even though the test was changing this year, the juniors still took the January test. So-they can juggle that old score if they need to.

If you break down an 1800 to a 1200 that is much higher than a 1200 on the old. I got the same scores on the PSAT and the Old SAT and my PSAT's percentile was 85% while my SAT's was only 75%. I think like an 1800 will be considered around a 1300.

Whoa that would be sweet. :)
