Old SATS

I am a senior this year, and I'm applying to college. I would like to send my old SAT scores along with my new ones. I am wondering how colleges, (if they do at all), consider the old SAT scores.

The thing is that my class, graduating 2006, had the choice of old and new SAT. Due to this, I think it doesn't make any sense for colleges not to look at your old SAT scores at all. Or can they take the math and critical reading sections from your old SAT and just add the writing score from the new SAT?

If anyone knows any Ivy's or other decent colleges that will consider old SATs, please post.

We have visited over 15 colleges with DD who will graduate from HS in June 2006. ALL are requiring the new SAT. They will take scores from the old one, but the new one is required too.

So when you say they are accepting the old scores, but requiring the new ones, what does that mean? How will they manipulate that kind of data?

yea, its kinda a gray area for the class of 2006. I'm guessing colleges who take the old but require the new are doing some kind of statistical thing to corelate the scores for future admissions purposes. I think that most are doing either of the two things: 1) take the highest from each section regardless of whether its old or new 2) take the highest math and verbal from the old sat and then add the highest writing from the new sat; If your highest math and verbal is from the new sat, then they will take that.
