<p>Since colleges dont provide info on the new SAT's (because they really cant).. .is thee some "estimation" calculator out there that tells you about what your new sat score would be if it was still the old test..? I know it can be perfect.. but just on average. </p>

<p>Well, the old SAT had two sections, for a total out of 1600. The new SAT has three sections for a total out of 2400. So guess you could take your old score, divide by two, and then multiply by three. That would be roughly it, but of couse doesn't take into account how you might do on the new writing section.</p>
<p>I would say colleges are still looking at the math scores and the critical reading (verbal) scores. I'm assuming that the writing poriton of the new SAT is akin to the writing SAT II. </p>
<p>I've read quite often recently, that the colleges are not really focusing on the writing portion as yet, except to say that they may take into account a student's SAT essay score when reading their application essays, making sure the student is capable of writing the submitted essay, and did not have someone else write it.</p>
<p>theonekid, I do not think there is a conversion chart. I did notice that at my son's hs the new sat score averages went down in cr and math (I think about 20 pts. on the cr and I think 10pts. on math) when comparing to the old sat. I do not know that colleges will be taking this into acct., should this be the national trend. Many schools are accepting old and new this year. Many (I think most) want a writing test though.</p>
