What do you guys think about a young woman dating a man who's 28 years older than she is?

She's a gold digger who'll either screw the guy or get screwed by the guy due to prenuptial agreement.

Or she's in love with the man.

Pick one.

You wouldn't happen to be Enlgish, or like Manchester United would you ManUtd?

She's in love with the man.
Her family is somewhat elite, so she's certainly not a gold digger. It's just that she's more mature than boys of her age. And the man she loves is very smart, witty, and highly intellectual. Overall, he knows what a girl wants.

Wouldn't this be a man's dream?

Wait a minute, she's a "girl" and more mature than "boys" her age? Are you referring to someone under 18? If it is, it'd be wayyy too weird (see that freshman/senior thread in the high school forum)

Oops, no, she's not 18. She's like 20..

I'm not English.

I like United.

Solskjaer is my favorite player.

My opinion depends on the situation. An important fact to remember, in any case, is that our way of looking at age -- that the ages of man and woman should be close together -- is an extremely new development in Western civilization and need not be regarded as Gospel. From the early poleis of Greece and Rome to early twentieth century America -- a period of thousands of years -- we thought nothing of a man in his forties taking a woman in her teens as a wife. It was normal. Heck, when Joseph and Mary, the parents of Jesus, were married, Joseph was an old man and Mary was almost certainly in her early teens.

Can true, honest, noble love happen between an older man and a younger woman? I believe so.

When I was English (naturalized citizen) I loved Man U, but I can't seem to be able to watch them over here in the states.

I can't watch United on TV either.

My friend has Fox Sports World. He watches Arsenal through that.

The only way to watch United is with ESPN2.

You're limited to Champions League matches though.

Hey! No soccer talk here!! kkk JK

This is kind of off-topic, but my mom works with this woman whose father is married to someone younger than her.

See, in my opinion, that's weird. I wouldn't expect my dad to go out with someone younger than I am. And I would not date a man who's older than my parents.

BTW, I bet that man's super witty and intelligent.

If she's like 30 and the guy is 58, then it's okay, but a little weird. If the girl is 18 and the guy is 46, then it's wrong and you need to find a woman closer to your own age.

She's probably a gold digger. It would be a different story if the old guy is not rich. Then she's just dumb to waste her youth on an old fart (unless actual "love" is involved.)

Wow what are you doing in Egypt??

I think when your looking at age difference you also have to look at the age at the moment.
I'm 18 and I want to date a guy whos 23. He wants to date me too. I don't think thats too bad but if I was 15 and wanted to date him back then (when he'd have been 20) then that would just be sick.
I suppose it does sound a lil weird even now but I really don't think its too bad.
