I am !! Get in Friday at about 1…celebrating DD’s bday Friday and then hope to tailgate :)…

WE ARE!! So excited to finally meet aphimommy!! Want to set a meet up someplace on Friday evening? We passed on Family Weekend because we won these tickets at Another Round, a local Bama Alumni bar in Downers Grove.

Don’t know anything about Tailgating. D is in Honors College…do we sign up to go to their tailgate? Or should we just wander? I read that there were vendors in the quad you could buy food from? Yup we are total Newbie’s. lol

We will be there as well! We fly in on Thursday, but will be staying with family in Birmingham. We’ll get to T-town sometime Friday afternoon. So excited!! We’re bringing our two younger kids this time (11 and 9). They are so excited for their first football game. I would be happy to meet up with y’all.

buzymom, yes, there are lots of food vendors all around the quad. I’m not sure how the honors college tailgate works. I know the year we toured they told us to just come by, so it doesn’t seem like something you have to RSVP for. When I hear about another open tailgate, I’ll post the info here.

Aloha, y’all! Roll Tide!!!

I am very excited to meet up. Doing dinner Friday night to celebrate DD’s 21st bday (it’s actually 10/2) but then she has a sorority date party and my son (he’s 23) wants to hit the Strip (although he has been invited to a band party at Lambda Chi) so I have no one to play with. Currently planning breakfast at Rama Jama’s Saturday morning early but hey we are flexible so just let me know. Am still on soft food but also a liquid diet (wink wink) if you know what I mean.

Aphimommy and I talked yesterday…we are meeting up on Friday night! Anyone else wanna meet us for a cocktail, just PM one of us. Not sure yet where we are headed…

^^^Just don’t take those painkillers with that liquid diet!

So, there are back to back home game weekends? Local businesses will be thrilled!

I really enjoyed the Elephant Stomp during Parents Weekend and was wondering if this is something that is done every home game.

If so, I highly recommend y’all stop by to see it. It is so impressive and so much fun!

I so much enjoyed the family atmosphere of tailgating on the quad. So many youngsters, with games for them to enjoy. And they were just in awe of the band and the dancing girls, and of course, Big Al!

As for food vendors on the quad, I was disappointed that not only Applebees, but also, my Slidell jambalaya people were no longer there. There were two barbecue places, including Full Moon, and a couple of burger/sandwich places, and a chicken fingers place.

Hope you guys have a good time!

Yes Elephant Stomp is at every home game :)…since this will be DS’s first Bama game day experience I think we might have to do that.
Rumor has it that NJ (Casino) is importing a woman (Think she’s from TI) that makes a killer gumbo…we are very excited!!! Collecting invites to tailgates…so far we have 5 plus 2 game day meals.
No worries about painkillers and libations :)

A few parents are looking for a tailgating group to hang out with for a while Saturday. We’re from Mississipppi but my son is a student @ Bama. Any suggestions?

is your son involved in any on campus clubs/groups?

honors college?

do yu have any friends who will be tailgating with ole miss?
