I am currently a junior from Georgia and I am considering applying to Ole Miss next year because of the Pharmacy dept there. However, I am really not interested in joining a frat and have heard that if you are not in a frat you won't have much of a social life. I'm definitely not extremely outgoing and I don't need/expect more than a few friends. Is going Greek necessary for a social life at Ole Miss?

There was a recent article in the Ole Miss Student newspaper that addresses this topic. This young woman was greek and now is independent. Read it…and if you still have questions, please feel free to ask. I’m not sure how to make the link work. But if you copy this into your browser, I think you will be good to go!

[To be (Greek), or not be (Greek)… that is the (freshman) question | The Daily Mississippian](http://www.thedmonline.com/article/be-greek-or-not-be-greek-freshman-question)

Wow, I’ve been searching for information on my question and that article was the first thing that’s answered it. Thanks so much.
