Olympiads as a Senior

I was wondering what the benefit of doing olympiads (math, chem, bio, phys, etc.) as a senior is (due to how late significant results come out in any given year). Let’s go under the (unrealistic) assumption that by participating in one such olympiad as a senior you would immediately make the IXO (where X is M, Ch, B, Ph, etc.) team. Would there be any benefit of this in the context of college admissions, considering the process is essentially over by the time these results are available.

For college admission, no impact. For personal growth and preparation for engineering design classes, definitely a benefit.
