Hi,
I have just finished the 10th grade( Albanian student). I love contests/olympiads and i think they are a really important part of my college admission. I have something unclear which i hope i will get answers for.

The college admission is made between November and January of the senior year. And the results of the olympiads are out in February-April (at least in my country) . Does this mean that if a student wins an olympiad after the admission , it is not considered? Or basically do i have time only in the sophomore year ?

Thanks

You have freshman, sophomore, and junior year for results to be in on time for your application (assuming your timeline is correct). You wouldn’t have time senior year (though if you get waitlisted and get an Olympiad, you can certainly update admissions then).

Actually i will be a sophomore in September so i only have one year time. As for the updated admission …?

I’m not sure what you mean. In the US, the four years before college are freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior year. If you are entering your last year before college, then I don’t think you have time to get an Olympiad in before applying. If you are not entering your last year before college, then you do have time to get an Olympiad before applying.

If you apply to MIT and are waitlisted, you can send them updates with what you have accomplished in the meantime.

Yeah i’ m sorry i messed it up. I will be junior this year according to US system. Thanks for your help :)
