Omg 17 Days

If they, NJ and locals, found out on the 11th, we probably will get them between 12-14, for NJ I would assume. But do you think they will say anything if i call the weekend before, do they divulge mailing info so to speak?

If the ED results were received on 12/11 (Saturday) last year by those in NJ and NY, then this year they should be arriving on 12/10 (Saturday). The rest of the country will be waiting until 12/12 (Monday) and on. Assuming, of course, that they are mailed on the same day of the week as last year.

yes runmanstl, assuming they are mailed on the same day, however I personally never like to be too optimistic when it comes to college decision letters or anything i'm waiting for in the mail because it only makes me more anxious.

can we call or email Princeton about our ED status after 12/12 if we haven't received any mail?

2b:

Just wait. A day or two shouldn't hurt you a'tall. The Uni will probably be swamped with phonecalls from other peopkle anyway. Now if nothing comes by Friday of that week, then maybe call.

Do they mail acceptance / deferred / reject letters at the same time (i.e., if you don't get a letter by the 15th-or-so you still have the regular shot of acceptance?)

Good luck to everyone! Next week can't come soon enough...

I know with Duke they send Acceptance priority and Deferrals and Rejections by regular mail, but I'm not sure how Pton works... I don't really care either, so long as I did a fat envelope.

at the info session I was told that there will be 90 extra spots this year...which means approx 45 extra spots for ED (if it is 50/50). Hopefully this is true because considering how many ppl apply to Pton, thats HUGE. Also I heard that the acceptances come both earlier and in a large white envelope will rejected/deferred come in a regular env. Ahh!

45 extra spots... wow! save me one... Yeh, alot of people applied this year so they will go fast. My interviewer even mentioned that to me. He said they called him last minute to do the job, because alot of people applied ED this year, more than last.

HOly cow...I just read from teh Columbia board that their decisions are coming on out the 8th! Thats soooo close. I wonder when Pton's will be. Since they don't email I'll be suck watching all my other Ivy applying friends rejoice...or cry and be completely agonized! AHAHAHAH

starry, is that online? Online for the 8th, my friend applied ED columbia

geeze, has anyone noticed that princeton forum has the most posts among all the ivy forums, this forum is the only one breaking 5000!

are you sure these claims are true? so, if I do see a big white envelope after two weeks, then I assume pretty much I am accepted, right? That's scary for those who receive regular envlope = instant depression.

OMG this is frrrreeaakking me out! And I'm bad-haven't finished other apps yet. I've been accepted to U of Michigan which is a good school that people seem to love and I feel dumb for pining away for Pton, but I can't help it! In the end, I should just take a deep breath and chill. Also, Stanford's app is due the 15th! That is just evil!! I guess they want to weed out the lazies, but still...

"Also I heard that the acceptances come both earlier and in a large white envelope will rejected/deferred come in a regular env"

I don't know about envelope part, but as for the "earlier" thing, a few posters a while ago from Pton posted that they got letters later than school friends but were accepted. It's anecdotal and other variables could be in play, though.

This is probably a foolish question but I have to ask...
Is Priority Mail (apparently the method of Princeton acceptance) delivered to the door? Or is it just left there on the porch?

Though I would guess left in mailbox/porch, it'd be so sweet to hear the doorbell ring to get a nice big white envelope...

About my comment about the 90 extra spots..I have no idea about the validity of this statement, I'm merely a messenger. Although, assuming that the Princeton representative wouldn't lie to me, the numbers should be about accurate. (PS my mom can testify to this also, I'm not deaf) THe reason there are more spots this year is that Pton has realized that they have the space/funds to have more kids and they want to give more people the chance to go. Thats it. Plus they have those new dorms. In any case, I hope its true. Also, if the deferrals come in a large envelope too, what would be inside it? Just one letter?

Hmm...I kept hearing they're adding 25 kids total (RD+ED). I hope you're right, though :).

OMG I hate all you soo much... Here you are wondering if its gonna take 1 day or maybe 2 days after they mail it to get you to and a few of us here have to wait around what? 5-6 days!!! Grrrr I'm soo jealous.

Now ... back to bio revision ... :(

Oh and from what I hear its the same envelope for accept/deferrals. The only difference from I hear is the method of post. Express/DHL or whatever vs normal priority mail ... Thats what I hear and from what it seems, no one knows what really comming.

I am soo gonna get a thousand posts by the time i get my decision :D
