Okay, my score was floating around the 1500s and it went up to the 1710. Today, I did a test and it fell back to 1520!

Okay, my score was floating around the 1500s and it went up to the 1710. Today, I did a test and it fell back to 1520!

What do I do?

Keep practicing perhaps you made simple mistakes or were not careful you’ll get there!

The SAT is a statistical evaluation of your knowledge. Swings up and down are c’mon and should be expected. Average out all your test to get a feel for how you should score on the real test.

First of all can you give us a breakdown of your scores? If you do, then we can give you a better solution to your situation.

In the test where I scored 1710, I got a 610 in Math, 580 in Critical reading and 520 in Writing.
In the test I did later, where I scored 1520, I got a 540 in Math, 570 in Critical Reading and 410 in writing.

A lot of factors can contribute to a drop in an SAT score. You could have been tired while taking that particular test, and sometimes you may not be able to physically notice it.

One other possibility is that if it was a practice outside of the College board material, or an SAT from another source, then it could be significantly more difficult in order to challenge you. This has happened to me personally many times.

The best thing to do would be to keep practicing, and to not get discouraged. You can bring that score back up and above what you had before. Good luck to you!
