<p>Junior class of 2008 (caucasian boy) (in state) wanted schools: stated at the bottom in greater detail: all UCs, UW (maybe dunno)
GPA: 3.9W 3.4 ish UW
sorry bout the low gpa but id like to admit that i love living life. There I said it, i may not have a 4.7 or whatever simply because I want to make the best out of life which is my own choice however i do respect those with the outstanding 4.5+.
Anyways: I do have a lot of honors and Ap over 15 of them i know that. I have taken every science AP course offered at my school from: environmental Science AP, Physics B AP, Biology 2 AP and I am going to take the Chemistry 2 AP next year. I did get a B first semester of the bio AP however with a 4 or 5 depending on how i do on the AP exam, the instructor will raise it to an A.</p>

<p>Now for the test stuff:
I have not taken any standardized tests however on practices I have scored very well on math (780-790s) but Im lacking in the english and reading departments. My goal is to break 2100 or whatever anyone could tell me would help me get to my reaches. ( I think over 2200 for the high UCs)
I plan on taking for SAT2:
math2
bio
physics</p>

<p>This part im hoping will get me into my colleges if you want to rant about my stats please do i need all the input i can get:
I have played on the Varsity tennis team on my school for all three years so far, obviously i will be playing in my senior year.
I have been made a Junior year captain (very rare at my school, maybe once each year for any sport)
i have won first team etc. and bay league for our team every year not to mention our team is Division one and seeded #2 in california.</p>

<p>For my individual record on tennis, i am officially ranked top 50 in the state(cant get a formal ranking as they are constantly modified every month) and top 500 at least in the nation (I have not been informed of the national standing but last I checked I was 390, so i may be a little modest for that)
I do travel and the whole nine yards to national tournaments around the counrty and had a good match with #1200 in the world (if that helps, just thought id throw in more numbers) I have received interest letters from UCSD and UO(Oregon) coaches since the season started 2 weeks ago hopefully to recieve more as the season goes on.</p>

<p>ANYWAY, yes i do belong to a community service group its a very legit group taken place for all 4 years of high school where the hours are combined and we get numerous awards for that.</p>

<p>I don't think my ECs are THAT great compared to some others I've seen but Im not shooting for the Ivy's because of my gpa. Thanks for listening to YET another chances thread and my wanted schools are:</p>

<p>All UCs: I like UCSB a lot along with UCSD definately my top 2
UCB and UCLA would be nice
for the heck of it UW (whynot, i have a lot of connections)</p>

<p>can you get recruited to UCB or UCLA? </p>

<p>if not, then UCB/UCLA -reach, UW, UCSB and UCSD, if recruited, are all matches if can land a 2100+</p>

<p>and btw, there are plenty of people who have lives and have 4.3+ gpas... its not impossible to do</p>

<p>i don't think you may be aware that UCLA takes foreign recruits from out of country over USA players. I dont know about recruiting but Im ust hoping on tennis to let me in as i definately will be playing on the team.</p>

<p>Actually, they'll take good Californian recruits above all, by law they need to. But if you're good enough to get recruited by a UC, you can get recruited by a better private which is what I'd do.</p>

<p>I don't quite get you. You imply that those with excellent grades--a good number reading these forums--have no life, then you go on to say you respect them. How's that work? It seems you're simply trying to make up for your supposed "inadequacies" (which, to me, aren't really so, but you seem to think so) to CCers.</p>

<p>Umm no. You simply misinterpreted, my friend. What I was implying is that I support the more simple things outside of reading books about chemistry, biology, and the history of our world, leading up to a simple basis behind my lack of interest to score a high gpa. Then I stated the fact that I respect those who have the work ethic to keep up an outstanding gpa.</p>
