Omg Another Princeton V. Common App Thread

Dont worry, I'm not a homotional noob coming here for one post, taking my L, and leaving. What I've been seeing is one of two arguments:

pro-pton app: They wouldnt offer it if they didnt prefer it.

pro-common app: If the app I choose makes a difference in getting into Princeton then is it the right school?

So what viewpoint do you side with?

They offer the Princeton application because it's in some ways superior to the common application in ease of use. I found the flexibility in the number of AP scores and such that could be inputted to be extremely useful, for instance. I also found it to be much easier to use and more intuitive than the common app. I was accepted ED, so I never ended up filling out the full common app, but from the parts I did input it was much more of a pain and less accommodating.

Considering that, it's probably easier for Princeton's database system to convert information from Princeton's app than the common app (they probably have to hand-review and input parts of the latter). If it saves them time, why wouldn't they offer it as an option?

In any case, there is absolutely no difference in the way they consider applicants who use their form versus the common app.

Don't you have to choose two of the Princeton topics to write essays for if you use the Princeton App? If you use the Common, you have the long essay you already wrote, and just one of the Princeton essay topics for the supplement.
