OMG! Can CB really cancel my scores???

hey guys....
in may I've taken SAT and I got 1470. I did not do (literally, I didn't answer CR questions - 7 correct and 60 omitted) reading part BUT did Math (700) and Writing (450).
I have been studying for SAT since then - 4-5 months. I have registered for October SAT and I'm really worrying if they will investigate/cancel or somehow prevent my early decision application. I'm planning to score 600 points higher than the last try.

Maybe I should inform CB earlier or what?

I'm regretting so much that I took that freaking may sat...

People I need some advice... Help me...

If they actually decided to conduct an investigation they would see that you omitted 60, so you’re probably good. but why would you omit that many in the first place?

If you didn’t cheat then I wouldn’t worry too much. You can probably appeal the College Board if necessary, in the event of something bad happening. You are generally expected to improve when retesting upon a first-time score that’s lower than the national average, because you have room for improvement, and in this case, time to study.

“Although the College Board possesses the ability to investigate any score, they typically do not unless they suspect dishonesty. Many students who take the SAT for the first time score significantly lower than their subsequent tests. Thus, the College Board is not likely to investigate scores that jump substantially.”

The above poster was told to show as much work as possible in their test booklet, too try to erase as little as possible, etc. The thing that looks most suspicious in your case is that you only answered 7 questions in ~40 minutes of time allotted for the reading sections.

One thing you can do is retake in November after taking it in October, if your ED college allows you to submit scores from November, or even if it doesn’t. Idk if you should inform CB or not, that’s up to you - it might be proactive to do so. Maybe you could inform your proctor?

Try to do your very best on the essay, because they can compare that essay with others in the testing room, and see that you had original work that matches your ability in other test subjects.

See if you can test in a special room with fewer students (I think they have special rooms for people with test anxiety or learning disabilities), so it is less likely for anyone to be cheating, and more likely for a teacher to catch you cheating, and also, more likely that you will end up with the highest score in the room. It is hard to be a successful cheater if surrounded by wrong answers haha.

I’m an international from Asia and I found it really hard for me, I was just reading some books before in English and I really did not expect Critical thing to be that difficult. In may I had our country’s national final examination and the whole year I was preparing for it and I just took SAT to try it and without preparation, damn I should not…

I think this will work in your favor then. If investigated (I don’t think they simply cancel scores without investigating) then you can make your case as not having learned the language enough yet.

WOW thank you BelleNiente, your help is much appreciated.
Unfortunately, we do not have such rooms…
I know you will not believe me, but I just relaxed 40 minutes. My proctor saw that, I’m sure, maybe (if I meet her again) I should ask her to contact CB and tell them that I was such and such.
I did not pay for that SAT, it was sponsored by an Organisation that helps students to go to US, and I did not take it seriously, I had not prepared etc. I could score well on math - I did. For other parts, I even did not bother. I really regret about this now, because I didn’t know that such problems could occur…
