Omg....freak out time

I don't want to check during class for fear of a) bursting out into maniacal laughter and smooching my teacher or b) beginning to cry inconsolably and running out of the classroom, tripping and falling, of course.

These would happen to me. The smooching part depends on the class

haha smooching your teacher?!?
im just gonna RACE home, driving very unsafely, as usal, and quickly..
cuz that's 4:00 my time and school gets out at 3:30.
omg omg omg

For some reason, my heart keeps on thudding and my stomach gets queasy everytime i read these posts. Yet, i continue to return...haha

dietcoke14, your lucky that you can go straight from school and not have to wait...My school ends at 2:30...those 1.5 hours in b/w are going to be agonzing
lol

School ends at 3:30 and the decisions are released at 2 pm. I think I'm going to check it at school.

i have to skip school that day and decisions are out at 2 pm... it will be the most tantalizing six hours of my life

my school gets out at 217, those 2 hours, 43 mins are going to be terrible. i plan on napping or something to waste time.

haha...i doubt i can get myself to fall asleep...
maybe, i'll just not go home and go shopping so i can stay away from the computer...

ugh...I have so much to do and i'm here at CC now!
lol

i honestly don't think i'm going to be able to be conscious and near a computer, hence the need for a nap. if i'm awake, i'll sit on CC and freak out until i have a full blown anxiety attack.

I just read another post and did anyone else know that the average SAT for this year's freshmen was over a 2300????? Now, I am seriously freaking out.
I wish I didn't love this college so much.

EDIT: Okay, my bad. I just reread the post and it was over a 2200. Not freaking out quite as much, but I think I might like to hold off on Friday and cling to the idea that there is some chance of me getting in.

cj, again, crushing my hopes and dreams! gosh :D

OMG cj_svu6...where is this post? can you post the link for it? please?
i'm totally freaking out now, esp since i only sent in my ACT score (33)

oh i hate this...

Here's the link:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-act-tests-test-preparation/429182-what-good-sat-1-score.html

And here's the list:
Brown = 2150
Columbia = 2100
Cornell = 2080*
Dartmouth = 2170*
Harvard = 2230
Pennsylvania = 2120
Princeton = 2210
Stanford (he's wearing a fake mustache, so pretend he's an Ivy) = 2150
Yale = 2230

I don't know how accurate these scores are, though.

Ursel, sorry, we have to stop meeting like this! :) lol I swear I'm usually much more positive- I've just had the worst week ever. Anyway, I saw that post and basically went in to panic mode and called my best friend. I think it may have crushed my hopes and dreams.

On the other hand this IS just an average. I would be more than happy to do my part and chip into the bottom 50% :)

well it's not necessarily 50%, that's the median...unless that's what you meant by average...but anyway, I'm freaking out

If I remember my statistics correctly (and it's entirely possible I don't), the average is likely to be lower than the median. If you think about the distribution of SAT scores, it is necessarily going to be skewed left -- because you can only get so high of a score, whereas you can keep going down and down...

In which case if you get a 2230, well, cj_svu, you're already PART of the lower 50%.

well gosh I'm just a ray of sunshine today :)

Haha- I WISH I had a 2230, but I can't do Math, at all - see that explains my previous post. jk! I really did just pick a random number. I guess since one of my numbers is outside the middle 50%, I would be contributing to the bottom 25%. Oh, how depressing.

two words: holistic. hoooollllliiiiistttiiiiccc. breeeathe deeeep. breathe the breaths of holistic goodness.

oh, my, I really must get some sleep. OK, that's it, I'm getting off this forum.

well it's not the one number that matters, it's all of them together with your EC's, gpa, etc, so don't worry too much

wow, we said the same thing same minute basically

My math is 50 points below Yale's middle 50%... joy!!! It's ok, I'll dazzle them with my... cumulative GPA? Not so much... EC's? Ha!

Oh boy. Maybe someone could send them the "ode to fringey" thread... at least someone loves me :-(

Yeah, my SAT scores totally suck. They put me automatically in the bottom 50% of the pool of applicants. D:

Fringey, your scores are wayyy better than mine at least.
