150 co-ed... Suffice to say, we know everything about everyone else

350, but we only have two grades.

My old school was also two grades, but had ~1800 students.

2 grades. 1000 students

4 grades. 1200 students

4 grades about 1500 students!
about 520 kids in our grade.. its weird but we used to be the largest grade, but now we're the smallest!

84 students in total, 22 in my grade
everyone knows everything about everyone
and we've only had one ivy acceptance in our history of 7 or 8 years
but most people just apply to UF and FSU because they are cheap

We have four grades and there are about 1,000 students at my school. The graduating class is about 280 students.

So I had a dream that I went onto my Eli account and the name on the account was someone else's and that he got in. But the thing was, it was MY account. I was freaking out about and was like, did I get in but they messed up my name or something!!?? It was a weird dream... I wish Friday was already here!!!

me TOOOOOO

HAH. My graduating class is 653 kids. Oh boy.

My graduating class is 460+.

For whatever its worth, I am ranked as 1. Dont know how many 1s are there. Yet, none went to any Ivy during last 2 yrs. One went to Harvard the year before and she had perfect SAT. So, I would say my chances of getting in is next to nothing.

Maybe I should have done ACT again to improve. Mine is only 34 which may not cut it from my school. I don't have any sports either. My ec's include other stuff but nothing standing out that much. I have pretty much made up my mind to accept a rejection from Yale.

I also have my sour grape. :) Yale is expensive anyway.

My graduating class is 455 or something like that. I'm ranked 1st, but my school is definitely not a HYP feeder. We get one or two into Brown or Dartmouth every year, and 4 or 5 to Cornell, but nobody at all to HYP. With the exception of star athletes, we haven't had anyone to those schools in the past 5 years at least.

As for me, well, I got a perfect SAT, so I suppose that sets me apart a bit from my val predecessors. But my ECs are standard...I am strongly, strongly expecting a deferral.

Oh, and is anyone else getting a million "Omg no you'll get in!!" from people at their school who aren't familiar with the ultra-selectivity of the ivys? It makes me so nervous because...I by no means expect to get in, and I'm going to hate having to tell everyone on Monday "No, I didn't.."

affle, i know how you feeel! well i mean, i dont know how it feels to get a 2400 (which is awesome btw!) but ppl keep telling me not to worry at all. the teacher that wrote my rec was like Yale, o dont even worry, they'll love you. i mean,i stand out at my school...but prob not among nearly 5000 qualified applicants!!!!

im expecting deferral as well. rejection would be killer. but we'll know soon enough!

Thanks starburst...I swear it was a fluke, though...

It really is annoying though...people keep bringing up "tomorrow!". And then 4 more people ask "ooh what happens tomorrow!?" And so on and so forth. Practically everyone's response is then "oh please you'll get in"...but they don't get it. I appreciate the support and all, but its giving me unrealistic expectations. One girl in my class is even supposedly making Y-shaped brownies for me tomorrow (we bake every Friday for my math class...isn't that cute?), and I begged her not to but I still think she's planning on it lol.

haha, well i tried to keep my application on the down low bc i didnt want to raise my expections, like ur case, and i also didnt want ppl talking about me if i got rejected like oo, im so sorry for her! but word gets around!

but on the bright side, you're getting brownies tomorrow. haha

affle im applying to yale and im pretty informed about the ultraselectivity of ivy-league schools. if you are #1 in ur class with a 2400, that means u are perfect in GPA + SATs. Therefore, even if you have mediocre ECs, you will probably get into Yale. As important as ECs are, CC tends to overemphasize them. Yeah, they're big, but SAT and GPA DEFINITELY outweigh them. You have a greater chance of getting into Yale than not.

Oh gosh yea I know completely how some of you feel. I'm planning on staying away from msn and stuff after I get my decision if its a deferral/rejection just because I don't want everyone asking.

School ended for us today so I don't need to see most people for three weks haha.

affle,
i know EXACTLY how you feel. its like everyone puts you on a pedestal and expects you to get in but, seriously, all ivies are a crapshoot. i guess we just all have to accept that we did the best we could do on our apps and take the blow if we dont get in. my teacher once wrote to me in an email " I know you would quickly turn disappointment into a positive growth opportunity. But it would still hurt. I also think that these disappointments are so important for growth--and worry about kids who don't deal with it before they are 30. They really are not equipped for life." i found that somewhat encouraging....
either way, 22 more hours haha. sometimes freaking out is fun, just enjoy the suspense while you can. good luckkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Lol I have to go back to school the next Monday! I think I might just go ahead and move to Norway or something and wait for RD decisions if I don't get in ;-)

omg, if i dont get in, which is very likely, i will not be able to deal with explaining that to everyone...i just will not be able to.
