OMG, help on CR/W

I'm gonna begin studying for the last time I take the SAT, but the CR/W frustrates me. Last test administration I got 660 on both sections, but I want 700+ on both sections!!! And, I WAS 99.9% sure that I had gotten around mid-700s on CR last time, yet BAM, a 660...-_- To those of you who get above 700s on these sections, how do you guys do it?!?!!? What books (besides CB) or strategies? Study plans!??! Seriously, I'm really really really desperate.... HELP!

Read more, and I don't mean harry potter.

Actually, Harry Potter could help as well--if you read it in the fifth grade.

I didn't really study, but I think making sure you're reading everything really closely is important. Especially the ones where you're correcting errors, there are a lot of tricks they throw in those that you have to look out for. But as far as vocabulary and stuff go, you really have to know the words or don't, because it's hard to study when they can take literally any word in the english language.

Just make sure you're careful and don't rush through, you're score will go up. Taking practice tests might be better than studying because you can get used to the tricks they use and also how to analyze the readings. Practice tests are probably the way to go.

bumpbumpbump

as many others have said...just read...and practice....those are the only things you can really do for CR but for writing try to find the patterns and error....RocketReview is really good for that

with writing, buy or get a sat writing work out of the library. the sat test few rules, but tests them often. also, the most concise sentance is almost always right. learn the grammar and make sure you go through the blue book. but i guess i was in a lucky situation, because i learned grammar extensively thoughout elementary, middle school, and high school.

reading depends what stage you are on. in april i got a 740 on the test. but on the june test i made sure that i answered every CR question based on the text. on every answer i went back in the passage and underlined support for my answer. this was the most important step for me, and i got an 800 in june. i really think if you are a fast reader, this tip really helps.

i got a 790 on the CR (first time), get maximum SAT-its a really good book, and teaches you some good tricks for the reading. Try read the paper everyday, and learn as much vocab as you can!
Good luck!
