Probably the only real difference is that Riders SAT scores may be a little higher. I believe that they both accept a fair number of people within your gpa range. I also know of a couple of people who got into Pace with gpas similiar to yours. I don’t know what their SAT scores were though. This was a couple of years ago. One of the good things about STAC is that they will let you know in 2 weeks (or so they say).

what are my reachs and what are my matchs?

I think your biggest reaches are probably Quinnipiac, Manhattan and Sacred Heart. It looks like your SAT scores are now cr-440, math-460, w-440. Most schools take the highest score from each section. The remainder of your schools take a fair amount of kids with your GPA and your SATS are slightly below the middle 50% for Rider and Pace. Remember that 25% of the accepted students at these schools are below the middle 50%. With STAC your GPA seems fine and your SAT scores are already in the middle 50%. It has become so random now with so many of these colleges that you never really know who will get in or not. I can tell you that my neighbor did not have the stats that you have and got into 4 out of 7 colleges last year with no hooks. I also know of similiar cases where kids got into schools and their stats were not even close to what these schools say they wanted. This may not happen all the time, but it is encouraging to know anyway. Having said all that I think that you will get into STAC and most likely a few of the others. Get recs from teachers who you trust and have a good relationship with and send them to all the schools even if they don’t ask for them. You can also show interest by contacting the admissions office or rep with any questions you have and if you feel it may hlep you can set up an interview. Also, have your English teacher look over you essays. They are usually very helpfula and make good suggestions. Finally, if you are interested in playing softball contact the coach and that may work in your favor also. You have shown a 4 year committment to both cheerleading and softball (which are both very time consuming) and that will look good too. Get you apps in as soon as possible (especially for STAC) who should respond back very quickly. Good luck with the college application process.

thanks poi, anyone else wanna comment?

bummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmp

update***
GPA 2.59
SAT COMPOSITE= Math: 460 CR: 440 WR: 440 = 1340/2400

Schools..
Quinnipiac U (early)
Iona College (early)
Hofstra U (early)
Manhattan C (legacy)
Adelphi U
Pace U Pleasantville campus
Rider U
Sacred Heart U
St Thomas Aquinas C

is it really that hard to get into Quinnipiac?

anyone???

well you might get into manhattan since u are legacy there…idk about the others…

yea but how hard is qunnipiac to get into for me?

oh and another question… if anyone someone does not apply for finacial aid.. would that me more appealing to the school?

If you look at the middle 50% of students who were admitted to Quinnipiac, your math score is 100 points below the bottom of the range, as is your verbal score. <a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board;

In thinking about where to go to school, keep in mind that 1340 is the 30th percentile on the SAT. In the other words, 70% of people who took the SAT did better than you.

If you do go to a four year school, try not to get distracted by sports and social life. You should get help and support from the school and should go somewhere where you know this will be available.

anyone else wanna comment… gimme some stright info! and dont be scared to be honest

does not applying for financial aid help me?

Lord have mercy. :(

Maybe you could try taking the ACTs? Your scores are a little below the middle 50% but that doesn’t mean you will not get in.

so basically im not getting in anywhere! cool!

lololololol

if i were you i would go to a community college… get a new shot at good grades

Guys… she has no interest in attending the HYPMS of this world so CC is a waste of time for her unless she wants to save money…or worse comes to worse you dont get into your beloved Quinnipiac.
if it helps it think Quinnipiac is a bit of a reach..but give it a shot you never know.

Rider, Adelphi U, St Thomas Aquinas, Manhattan C you will most likely get into.
